“You are working at a famous design studio and you have been approached by a popular car company, they want you to design a toaster that can toast bread with a design language of one of their car models."

RESEARCH

By analyzing the customer observation, the issues of existing toasters and expectations of new ones are numerous.

In this world of limited space, a single purpose product like toaster needs to take less foot space. By making it wall mounted, the foot space is reduced and the whole appearance of the kitchen is enhanced.

My approach towards the inspiration is not only the form of the car, but also the design philosophy of Delorean DMC.

IDEATIONS

Exploration starts with the traditional table top toaster styles and gradually drifted towards the wall mounted concepts. One is front loading toaster which provides easiness for the loading and removal of even small size bread. Other is normal top loading toaster with the side open glass window which facilitates proper feedback to the user.
